My career in the insurance broking industry started in 1992, when I began as a
17-year-old Assistant Account Executive.  Over the next few years, I learnt the art of insurance broking and progressed through the ranks at various insurance brokerages. 

I began working as an Authorised Representative in 2004, before taking over Westralian Insurance in 2008.  I have a Diploma of Financial Services and I'm a CIP (Certified Insurance Professional) with ANZIIF.  

The best part about working in the insurance industry, is getting to know all about our clients businesses.  I also enjoy watching our clients and their business grow and evolve over the years.  Many customers have become great friends and consider me like family in their business!

Although owning your own business comes with its challenges, I enjoy the flexibility it provides.  Having four children, I am able to attend their school assemblies and sports carnivals, as well as after-school events.  Outside of work I enjoy playing squash, kicking a ball with the kids, AFL Fantasy and spending time with my family and friends.

One of my favourite sayings is, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

My career in the insurance industry began in 2001 in the UK, shortly after completing 3 years at university.  I then moved to Perth in 2009 after securing a position with an insurance broker in the city.

I’ve been lucky enough to insure businesses all over the world, from large multinational corporations to small retail shops and sole traders.  I love dealing with people from all walks of life and I like my clients to see me as an extension of their own business.

I have a Diploma of Insurance Broking and I'm a CIP (Certified Insurance Professional) with ANZIIF.   I also have a BA (Hons) degree in Historical Studies from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK.  When I’m not at work, I enjoy running, working out and spending time with my two daughters.

One of my favourite quotes is by Jim Carey and it’s a motto by which I try and live my life every day – “The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is”.

I started my insurance broking career back in 2008, and have worked in a variety of roles and industries over the past fifteen years, most recently focused on building and construction. I thoroughly enjoy working with businesses of all shapes and sizes, and finding insurance solutions for their needs is very rewarding.

My insurance qualifications include NIBA Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) status and a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). I also have a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University WA.

In my spare time, I try to keep in shape and love various water sports, as well as AFL, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

I believe that the quote ‘Gratitude is the best attitude’ is a great way to approach all situations.

I’ve worked in the insurance industry since 1998, and have been lucky enough to work across many facets of the industry – with Insurance companies, Insurance agencies and lastly, with Westralian Insurance as a Broker.

I originally commenced with Westralian Insurance in 2008 and worked for nearly 10 years before leaving to have a family.  After taking extended leave, I have now returned to my role as an Account Manager.  I thoroughly enjoy helping my clients with all of their insurance needs and it is very rewarding watching their businesses grow.

My insurance qualifications include a Diploma of Financial Services – Insurance Broking, with ANZIIF.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family outdoors. Bushwalks, fishing, camping and travelling are all things that bring me joy.

I have worked at Westralian Insurance since 2010, however, have known the owners, Jason and Simone Barnes, for nearly twenty years.

I have been employed within the insurance industry for over fifteen years and during this time I’ve enjoyed a variety of roles. My insurance education includes a Certificate III in Financial Services (Insurance) and a Tier 1 qualification.

My role is heavily customer service focused and I thoroughly enjoy the client interaction. I assist all brokers which is a busy and challenging role, as well as mentor and train new staff and keep the office running smoothly.  

During my spare time, I enjoy reading and trying to keep fit!

My career started in the insurance industry in 1980, when I was only fifteen. I now have nearly thirty years experience and have gained a huge amount of knowledge and understanding from the industry. 

I have had a variety of roles working in both insurance companies and insurance brokerages. My role with Westralian Insurance is Account Executive and I assist with renewal and endorsement processing, new business and client queries.

I enjoy working with clients to make their insurance experience as easy as possible and I enjoy building great relationships with our clients. My goal is to let our clients know that I am here to help with any requests and be someone they can trust.

In my leisure time, I love to spend most of it outdoors, walking, finding new dining experiences and socialising with my family and friends.

I first started my insurance career back in 1987 in the insurance industry - I've seen many changes since then!

During this time, I have had a variety of roles within and outside the insurance industry during my nearly 35 year working career.  I have spent the last 10 years as a broker assistant within the industry, assisting clients and generally making the process of insurance an easier one.  

I enjoy the customer service aspect of insurance, which is a large part of my role with Westralian Insurance as an Account Executive.   I assist with renewal and endorsement processing, new business and client queries.  

During my spare time, I enjoy reading and going to the movies.

My insurance career started in 2013, working in Underwriting Support.  After five years, I had the opportunity to explore the Broking industry when I began working as a Broking Assistant/Administration Support. 

I enjoy my job so much because I get to work with many different brokers!  I also enjoy the challenges of the role and learning something new everyday.  Now, I consider my role as an Assistant Account Executive the most special one, as I get to work from home permanently which has been my goal for the past few years. 

Working with an amazing team is such a bonus!

I love spending my spare time with the family, long drives and cuddling our furbabies.

Assistant Account Executive

My insurance career started in 2018, when I joined an insurance company specialising in strata insurance. I started off as an Insurance Claims Officer for Body Corporates. In the span of 6 months, I was promoted to be the Team Leader of my department, which eventually led me to handle more responsibilities and manage a team of staff. I also completed my Tier 1 and 2 insurance qualifications.

It has always been frustrating for me to see an Owners Corporation or a Body Corporate having insurance issues, hence the reason why I want to help people with such concerns. Issues like late renewals, limited Insurer interest in providing cover, claims taking longer to be paid than necessary and a general lack of responsiveness are the issues that genuinely bother me, hence my transition to the insurance broking side. I am really excited to be working in a team who value client support and a high standard of customer service.

As an Assistant Account Executive, I look forward to supporting our clients. My current role includes processing renewals for a variety of clients and industries, and liaising with underwriters as required. 

When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family. Cooking for them and watching a good film with the kids, really relaxes me.

I have been working in the insurance industry since 2016, and have worked with great people who developed and molded me to be knowledgeable and experienced.  I've been a customer service representative and a sales agent, and I would say, working as an Assistant Account Executive is the best job I have had!

Here at Westralian Insurance, I am part of the processing team, working on a range of renewals across many business types.  I enjoy learning about a client's insurance requirements, and liaising with underwriters to ensure their most precious assets are fully protected.

Outside of work, I am a dog lover, avid baker, freediving enthusiast, and fitness fanatic.  With a heart for canines and a knack for baking, I find joy in both the kitchen and the depths of the ocean.  Whether it's whipping up treats or exploring the underwater world, I live my life with passion and adventure.

I enjoy being outdoors and appreciating things around me...and I always keep in mind the saying that, "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough".

I have worked alongside my husband, Jason since we began the business in 2004. My tertiary degree and career background are in the marketing and branding arena however, my professional knowledge and experience has broadened vastly since then!  I am also a mum to four beautiful children and am lucky to be able to work part-time around my children and their dreams.

I have taken on the many, varied roles which come with owning a small business, including administration tasks, staff payroll and superannuation, recruitment selection and performance management of all staff.  I also look after our marketing and digital advertising.

I manage our ever increasing compliance and risk management program and work closely alongside key partners to maintain and build a transparent, healthy, customer-focused business. 

In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, reading and catching up with friends and family.  I also volunteer much of my time helping my children’s' sporting teams and school.

As a customer-focused business, I believe in the saying, ‘You never get a second chance to make a first impression.’
